3 Way 4 Way 3 Way Switch. There are three basic ways three-way switches may be set up to control one or more lights. Three and four-way switches work by opening and closing the circuit by numerous variations.
Three-way and four-way switches make it possible to control a light from multiple locations, such as the top and bottom of a stairway, either end of a long hallway, or multiple doorways into a large room. This allows a light to be turned on and off from two locations. There are three basic ways three-way switches may be set up to control one or more lights.
However, intimate knowledge of circuit design is not really necessary for this.
I would prefer the toggle to be slightly larger (it's the same size as the DiMarzio switch but a bit smaller.
